ASTM A105 Forged Carbon Steel Slip-On Flanges

The Slip-On Flange (SO Flange) is a highly popular and economical forging component. It's designed to slide over the end of the pipe and is secured by two fillet weldsβ€”one inside the bore and one outside. The primary advantage of the SO Flange is its ease of alignment before welding, which drastically reduces fabrication time and cost compared to weld neck flanges. The standard material for these flanges in industrial piping is ASTM A105, which specifies Forged Carbon Steel suitable for pressure systems.
