Ceramic Composite Coating
Ceramic Composite Coating refers to specialized surface layers, often multi-layered, applied to metallic or composite components via thermal spray (e.g., Plasma Spray, HVOF). These coatings are frequently based on Zirconia or Silicon Carbide and are engineered for two main purposes: Thermal Barrier Coatings (TBCs), providing critical heat insulation, and coatings offering extreme wear and abrasion resistance. They maintain integrity and protect the substrate from heat, oxidation, and chemical attack at temperatures where base metals would soften or melt (above 1000°C). Ceramic Composite Coatings are essential for components in gas turbines, diesel engine pistons, rocket nozzles, and high-speed cutting tools. Zeron Fastners supplies materials and coated products for high-performance systems.
