Nickel Alloys Monel 400 Lap Joint Flanges (LJ Flanges) are two-piece flange assemblies that utilize a separate stub end (a short piece of pipe with a flared end) butt-welded to the pipe, over which the flange freely slips. Zeron Fasteners manufactures and supplies these specialized flanges from the robust Monel 400 alloy (UNS N04400). The distinguishing feature of this product is the ability of the flange to rotate freely around the pipe stub end, making bolt hole alignment significantly easier and reducing installation time. Monel 400 is chosen for this application because the highly corrosion-resistant stub end is the only part of the flange assembly that makes contact with the fluid.
