SS 304L Stud Bolts

The SS 304L Stud Bolt is the low-carbon version of the standard 304 stud bolt, specifically manufactured to meet the requirements of ASTM A193 Grade B8L (or equivalent). The defining feature is its extra-low carbon (L) content (max 0.03%), which significantly minimizes the risk of sensitization—the precipitation of chromium carbides at the grain boundaries—which can lead to intergranular corrosion when the material is welded or exposed to high temperatures (425°C - 860°C). While retaining the excellent general corrosion resistance and mechanical properties of 304, the 304L grade is the preferred choice for applications involving welded assemblies, pressure vessels, and piping flange assemblies where thermal stress is present.
