ZERON 100 is a highly alloyed Super Duplex Stainless Steel (UNS S32760) whose exceptional corrosion resistance is directly derived from its composition. It features elevated levels of Chromium (Cr), Molybdenum (Mo), and Nitrogen (N), which together maximize the material's Pitting Resistance Equivalent Number (PREN), typically exceeding 40. This chemistry provides superior resistance to localized corrosion compared to standard duplex and austenitic alloys.
| Element | Content (%) |
|---|---|
| Chromium (Cr) | 24.0 – 26.0 |
| Nickel (Ni) | 6.0 – 8.0 |
| Molybdenum (Mo) | 3.0 – 4.0 |
| Copper (Cu) | 0.5 – 1.0 |
| Tungsten (W) | 0.5 – 1.0 |
| Nitrogen (N) | 0.20 – 0.30 |
| Carbon (C) | 0.030 max |
The balanced Ferrite-Austenite microstructure, combined with the high alloy content, gives ZERON 100 outstanding durability against several corrosion forms:
