SS 304L Screws
SS 304L Screws are threaded fasteners made from the low-carbon version of austenitic stainless steel. The designation 304L signifies an extra-low carbon (L) content (maximum 0.03%), which is the key feature that distinguishes them from standard 304 screws. This low carbon level dramatically improves the screw's resistance to intergranular corrosion—a type of attack that can occur near welded areas or after exposure to high temperatures (425°C - 860°C). While they possess slightly lower tensile strength (Property Class A2-50), they retain the excellent general corrosion resistance of the 304 alloy. They are the preferred choice in applications where components are welded or exposed to service conditions that might cause sensitization in standard 304. Zeron Fasteners manufactures and supplies a comprehensive range of SS 304L screws, including machine screws, self-tapping screws, and set screws, ensuring reliability and structural integrity in critical, mildly corrosive environments.
