SS 316L Couplings
An SS 316L Coupling is a short piece of pipe or forging with female threads or a socket on one or both ends, primarily used to connect two sections of pipe with the same or different diameters in a straight line. They are essential pipe fittings for joining and extending pipe runs.
The most common types are the Full Coupling (for joining same-diameter pipes) and the Reducing Coupling (for joining pipes of different diameters). The designation 316L indicates a low carbon austenitic stainless steel, which is ideal for both threaded and socket-welded connections because the low carbon content minimizes the risk of intergranular corrosion (sensitization) after welding. The inclusion of Molybdenum ensures outstanding resistance to pitting and crevice corrosion in severe, chloride-containing environments. Zeron Fasteners manufactures and supplies high-quality SS 316L Couplings, including Half Couplings and Reducing Couplings, conforming to standards like ASME B16.11, ensuring durable, high-pressure, and leak-proof connections in hydraulic, chemical, and utility lines.
