Nickel Alloys Inconel 625 Slip-On Flanges

The Inconel 625 Slip-On Flange (SOF) is a versatile forging component designed for piping systems where installation ease is prioritized. The flange features a bore that is slightly larger than the pipe's outer diameter, allowing it to slip over the pipe before being secured by two fillet welds (one on the outside and one on the inside). This design facilitates simple alignment and is often more cost-effective than Weld Neck Flanges, though it is typically limited to lower pressure ratings than WNFs. Manufactured from the elite nickel-chromium-molybdenum superalloy, UNS N06625 (Alloy 625), these flanges benefit from the alloy's high content of Molybdenum and Niobium, providing high mechanical strength and stability at high temperatures. Crucially, Inconel 625 offers near-immunity to chloride ion stress corrosion cracking (SCC) and superior resistance to pitting and crevice corrosion, making them ideal for systems handling aggressive fluids in the marine, chemical, and petrochemical sectors.
